I was invited to learn more about Club W through Influenster so I decided to give it a try. Hey, it involved wine, so why wouldn't I?!
Club W is an online wine club, no, not like a secret society. It's a wine-of-the-month type club where you get to try different wines based on your taste and preferences. Club W partners with notable vineyards and winemakers, who handpick dozens of bottles for you to choose from. You pick three of those vinos for the month or have Club W choose for you based off your preliminary palate test, all for $39. Wow, how cool is that?!
It starts with an online profile. When you sign up at Club W, you're asked to answer a series of questions about your tastes. It's a way to identify your palate, as well as how adventurous you are - they will ask about how you take your coffee and whether you like salt in your food.
From there, it works much like recommendations from Netflix and Pandora. You rate the wines you've tried, and an algorithm finds the next perfect bottle for you. And like an online dating service, there is a wine connoisseur (or matchmaker) behind all of this. The connoisseur will show you 12 bottles of wine that should suit your taste.
You can order three bottles of wine a month, or bump up to six bottles. Buying six or more bottles entitles you to free shipping. With wine delivered to my door, this means happy hour at home EVERYDAY! Woohoo!
